Ti-Sarana Buddhist Association is a Therevada-based organisation, that practices the Sri Lankan tradition of Buddhism, with its learned Sangha members (Monks) hailing from Sri Lanka, which is a country steeped in Buddhism.
Established in 1976 to serve the English-speaking Buddhist community in the East Coast of Singapore, it is now a progressive organisation, that under its Constitutions, aims to propagate the Buddha’s teaching (Dhamma) and provide free religious services to its many members and devotees.
In addition to the daily puja services that it conducts, the Association also provides members and devotees the unique opportunity to provide daily Dana (giving alms) to its residents monks and also Sunday Dhamma Talks by prominent Buddhist practitioners and academics.
It also has structured Sunday Dhamma Classes for young children from 4 to 12 years old.
Through its base of volunteers, the Association organises key Buddhist events throughout the year, ranging from Vesak Day celebration to the traditional 3-months Vassana & Kathina Day observations, and other events like Ullambana and Qing Ming ceremonies, where Sanghika Dana is offered for the wellbeing of past relatives and friends.
