Paritta - Protective Chant
Paritta means a protective chant. There are some protective chants as well as some discourses in Pali canon to be chanted to ward off evil influences of suffering, ailments and anxieties. Unique value of the Triple gem is highlighted in some of the chants. Devotees who listen to the chants with devotion and attention with the pleasant mind would achieve the desired effect of chanting.
